Sherpa

Description

History:

• Went to live in a residential home in Port Lincoln
• The make up was Mum, Dad and 14 yo boy.
• He also met Dozer, an 8 year old Saint Bernard – they clicked instantly
• Life was good for two years – He had lots of company, and had trips to the beach for swims – and he grew into a magnificent Male Maremma. Sadly Dozer became very ill and was diagnosed with cancer – they took him to the vet not knowing what was happening – he didn’t come home …..
• Sherpa was in shock, being without his life long friend, and it is horrid to see a Maremma grieving.
• He became more reliant on, and more protective of his human mum, who worked from home. When he couldn’t be with her he would cry and cry for hours to the point where the neighbor became difficult and went to council. Mum and I had numerous talks about what she could do, but in the end she made the difficult decision to surrender him back to us.
• I was able to find what I thought was the perfect home for him …. Acreage and an Australian Shepherd companion, she was a Vet Nurse, two families on the same property so not often on his own ….. sound too good to be true ?????   It was !!!!!
• I will be happy enough to tell the story to anyone who is looking at taking him home
• We welcomed him back, and the only reason we need to rehome him is that they are two alpha males – father and son – logistically it has become too difficult.

Sherpa is:

• 2 years and 8 months old
• Very large male maremma
• Still intact
• Vaccinations up to date
• His ideal place is beside his human
• He needs training when he finds his new family – bonding can take as long as 6 months, but the more effort you  put in, the better and quicker it happens.
